## How buying works

- **What is Urban Market?** Urban Market is a Kenyan online marketplace. You buy from several independent shops - food, coffee, drinks, fragrance, pharmacy, fashion and tech - in one basket and one checkout, with delivery by TumaBoda. It is operated by Urge Ventures in Nairobi.
- **How does delivery work?** One TumaBoda rider collects from every shop in your basket and brings the order to you, so you pay one delivery fee for the whole order. At checkout you drop a pin on the map so the rider finds your gate, and the fee is shown in full before you pay.
- **How do I pay?** By mobile money or card, at checkout. With mobile money a payment request comes to your phone and you approve it with your PIN. Payment is taken before a rider is sent, and there is no cash on delivery.
- **Can I return something?** If anything arrives faulty, damaged, wrong or missing, tell us at the door or within 48 hours and you are entitled to a remedy. Each shop sets its own terms for change-of-mind returns, shown before you pay. Cooked food, medicine, opened personal-care products and alcohol with a broken seal cannot be returned for a change of mind.
- **Do I need to be 18 to buy alcohol?** Yes. Alcohol is sold only to people aged 18 or over. You confirm your age when you add it to your basket, and the rider asks for a valid ID at the door and will not hand it over without one.
- **Who is Anita?** Anita is Urban Market's AI shopping assistant. Tell Anita the occasion and your budget and Anita suggests products from what the shops actually sell. The answers are generated by AI, so check the price and details on the product page before you pay.
- **How do I sell on Urban Market?** Open a shop from the Sell on Urban Market page: list your products, take orders online and have them delivered by TumaBoda. Each shop sets its own prices and returns terms, and stays the seller of what it lists.
